How to use the ErgoStar

Read this important information !

If you have been working in a poorly arranged work environment for any length of time, the changes you may make by following the ErgoStar® Computer Work Area Adjustment Module recommendations may cause varying levels of discomfort as you adjust to the new settings. Should this occur after you have made the adjustments, you need to decide if this discomfort is because you are now working in a rearranged work environment, or if there is some other cause.

If discomfort continues beyond a reasonable length of time, or if the discomfort is extreme, you need to seek qualified professional medical help to determine the cause and resolve this problem before continuing to use the adjustments suggested in the ErgoStar®.

All of the adjustments recommended in the ErgoStar® are the generally accepted positions for adjusting your computer work environment. This does not mean that you cannot make changes. Start with the recommended settings, then vary them within the suggested range, or around the suggested setting to make your environment comfortable for you.

Your comfort is the most important part of making these adjustments.

Periodically return to the instructions and make sure everything is still in adjustment for you. Remember, how you feel is the best measure of whether you are working in a well-adjusted work area.

Throughout this module we offer some simple, inexpensive suggestions on how to solve some of your adjustment problems. Many of the adjustments can be made using this cost effective approach. In addition to these simple solutions, there are many ergonomic products available which will help make your computer work environment a more comfortable place for you.

The ErgoStar Software is not designed to be an in-depth treatment of ergonomics, Repetitive Strain Injury or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. There are many excellent reference books available which cover these topics in detail.
