Many people center the entire width of the keyboard in front of them while keyboarding.

This causes you to twist slightly in your chair or to extend one arm farther than the other when you use the character keys, which can cause shoulder and wrist pain.

Instead, center just the character keys in front of you as you work.

Find any three small but noticeable stickers or colored dots. Below the space bar, place one of the colored dots on the bottom edge of your keyboard, directly under the “B” key on a standard keyboard. Place another colored dot on the top edge of your keyboard directly above the one on the bottom.

These two dots are a visual reminder of the center of the character keys on your keyboard.
