Who needs the ErgoStar ®?

Anyone who uses a computer for as little as an hour a day needs the ErgoStar.

When we say a computer, we mean a PC, a Macintosh, a dumb terminal, or any other keyboard, keyboard and mouse or keypad-based data entry system. The computer allows us to work for long periods of time without requiring breaks or more than minimal movement. This is not good for our bodies. The human body was designed to move.

After the introduction of the computer, a new type of injury started to emerge for those employees who spent many hours using this remarkable new machine. CTS, or Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, and RSI, or Repetitive Stress Injuries, are the fasting growing category of medical problems for computer users today. These injuries are caused in part by repetition, force and awkward posture. We can reduce repetition by taking frequent breaks, by learning how to use macros and keyboard shortcuts and by doing a better job of alternating our keyboard and non-keyboard based tasks.

It is another story when it comes to awkward posture. We are told we need to adjust our chair, monitor, keyboard, mouse, or use a footrest. The problem is that no one has ever shown your employees how to correctly make all these adjustments. The ErgoStar Computer Ergonomic Adjustment Software does this. It explains the important concepts your employees need to know and it shows them how to make these critical adjustments to customize their work area to reduce or avoid the potential of getting these serious and potentially debilitating injuries.

The ErgoStar is software that you will want your employees to use as long as they are using a computer. Any time an employee moves to a new work area, gets another piece of equipment, or especially, if someone has used an employees computer and made changes, you are going to want them to go through the adjustment process again to make sure everything is set for them. It's easy, and an employee can repeat the process anytime they feel there is something out of adjustment. If an employee has been working in an awkward position at a poorly arranged computer work area, it may take a few times going through the adjustment process for them to become more comfortable working in a properly adjusted work area.
